SEATTLE (USA) .- Microsoft has confirmed its plans to launch the first major update of its new Windows Vista operating system early next year.

In fact, many large corporate customers wait for Microsoft to launch the first "service pack", a series of enhancement programs, updates and improvements, before introducing the new Windows operating system.

Corporate customers are often reluctant to adopt new programs until Microsoft resolves the problems experienced by regular users, who tend to buy new computers with the latest operating system already installed.

In a note, Microsoft announced its plans to begin testing Windows Vista SP1 on a small group of customers within a few weeks, and its intention to distribute the proceeds among computer manufacturers in the first quarter of 2008.

Microsoft has announced that the first "service pack" is not as significant as in the past, because the company actually install patches and updates via reinforcements via the Internet.

Windows Vista SP1 should, according to Microsoft, improve the security of the operating system, its stability and performance, but not change their appearance or add any role.

Microsoft has also delayed the announcement of the date of distribucón Windows Server 2008 among the manufacturers' hardware '. The company also reported plans to launch the third 'service pack' for Windows XP, Vista's predecessor, in the coming weeks. Will be distributed among computer manufacturers in the first half of 2008.
